How to Reset Service Light BMW E71 X6 model year from 2008 to 2014

Before resetting:
1. Make sure the instrument panel indicates correct time and date before resetting the service interval indicator.

2. Service interval indicator can only be manually reset if its value is below 80% of its life. If the item is not due for reset it can only be changed using suitable diagnostic equipment.

Resetting process:

Step 1: Insert remote control in ignition slot and DO NOT depress brake or clutch pedal.

Step 2: Press start/stop button to switch ignition ON. The service type and time/distance to next service are displayed briefly.

Step 3: Press and hold button 1 for about 10 seconds until the symbol A is displayed.

Step 4: Repeatedly press button 2 to select the service item to reset.

Step 5: Press and hold button 3 until "RESET" is displayed.

Step 6: Press and hold button 3 and a clock symbol will appear in the display. "RESET" and a tick symbol will be displayed to indicate that the reset is complete.

Step 7: You can now release button 3.

Step 8: Press start/stop button to switch ignition OFF.
